Jiri-Everest Base Camp Trekking is an iconic Himalayas view trial located in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Nepalholiday team takes you to Everest Base Camp through the same trial where two renowned figures Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa took the route in 1953 A.D. You are welcomed with awesome Himalayas values of four 8000 m peaks Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse(8,576 m), Makalu (8,463) and Cho Oyu (8,201 m). This trekking is perfect for adventure seekers having sufficient time, interested in learning about Nepalese lifestyle and Himalayan nature.
Another highlight of this trekking is the Sagarmatha National Park. Inside this national park, you can encounter dense forests, thundering waterfalls with various species of floras and faunas. You can discover “Solukhumbu”, the heartland of the Sherpa people. Tengboche monastery is also a most visited monastery of the destination. Day 01: Arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (1,345 m/4,412 ft) (A).
After landing in Kathmandu, our team will take you from airport to the hotel. You can rest and in evening meet up with the Ecofriendly team.
Day 02: Pre-trip meeting and trek preparation (A, B).
Today you will have a pre-trip meeting hosted by nepalholiday team, where you will meet your trek guide and other members related to this trip. You will be provided a short briefing regarding our conscious journey to Everest Base Camp Trekking. Before starting the trip, you can ask if you have any extra queries. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Drive to Jiri by local bus, 8 hours (A, B, L, D).
We drive to Jiri from the local bus enjoying scenes from outside the window. The drive is quite difficult as it take 8 hours to reach today’s destination. We ride from the Sun-Koshi river valley and reach Jiri. Jiri is the trek starting point of this trip. Overnight in Jiri.
Day 04: Jiri to Bhandar (2,200 m/7,216 ft), 6-7 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
In today’s trail we ascend up to ridge-top and follow by the descending down to Shivalaya. Then we again make another climb to reach Bhandar. Tonight in Bhandar.
Day 05: Bhandar to Sete (2,645 m/8,676 ft), 6-7 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today after breakfast, we start our trek descending to Sete crossing the Linku River (1,580 m/5,183 ft). We then start ascending to Lamjura hill. We can find monastery during the trip. During the trek, we can find various villages of Sherpa people. Sherpa culture is the most common culture of this place. You can observe their lifestyle and immerse within it. Overnight in Sete.
Day 06: Sete to Junbensi (2,675 m/8,774 ft) 6-7 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today’s trek starts with the long ascending to Lamjura pass (3,530 m/11,579 ft). This pass is the highest point between Namche bazaar and Jiri. Again we will descend to reach Junbesi following the trial of Tragdobuk (2,860 m/9,381 ft).Junbesi is the beautiful village covered with the culture of Sherpa people. Overnight in Junbesi.
Day 07: Junbesi to Nunthala (2,440 m/8,003 ft), 6-7 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today, our trek starts with ascending to a ridge (3,080 m/10,102 ft). You can catch a small view of Mt. Everest (8,848 m/29,021 ft). The trial leads to Hospital, districts headquarter and a small market in Salleri. We again descend towards Ringmo Khola (2,650 m/8,692 ft) and again start walking to reach Trakshindo Pass (3,071 m/10, 073 ft). After reaching Trakshindo Pass, we will descend in order to reach Nunthala (2,440 m/8,003 ft). Overnight in Nunthala.
Day 08: Nunthala to Kharikhola (2,020 m/6,626 ft), 5-6 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today our trial starts from descending to Dudh Koshi River and start ascending again. In the way we find villages of Sherpa culture people and also pass through the forests to reach Kharikhola.
Day 09: Kharikhola to Puiyan (2,700 m/8,856 ft), 6-7 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today we start our trek ascending to reach Puiyan. In the way we will get to observe Sherpa villages. We pass through forest to reach Puiyan. Overnight in Puiyan.
Day 10: Puiyan to Phakding (2,646 m/8,679 ft), 5-6 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
We climb from Puiyan and reach 2,800 m and again ascend to a final ridge. We again descend to reach Phakding that day. Overnight in Phakding.
Day 11: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m/11,286 ft), 5-6 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today we start our trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar through beautiful Khumbu village. Our major attractions include, pine forst, Dudh Koshi river and the beautiful landscape. We enter Sagarmatha National Park today. This park preserves various species of floras and faunas. Namche Bazaar is probably is one of the biggest town of Everest region. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 12: Acclimatization day (A, B, L, D).
Today, we rest in Namche Bazaar to avoid high altitude problems. We can hike up early morning to Sagarmatha National Park and enjoy the sunrise view which includes beautiful Mt. Lhotse (8516 m/27,932 ft), Mt. Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and so on. You might also round up Namche Bazaar which has small and beautiful market. We will visit the Hillary and Sherpa museum. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Phorse Thanga (3,680 m/12,070 ft), 5-6 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
We start our journey ascending through forests enjoying the floras, faunas and Khumbu La view. Overnight in Phorse Thanga.
Day 14: Phorse Thanga to Machharmo (4,470 m/14,662 ft), 5-6 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
We today first ascend a ridge and descend to a Dudh Koshi River and again ascend to reach Machharmo. Overnight in Machharmo.
Day 15: Machharmo to Gokyo (4,800 m/15,744 ft), 5-6 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today we enjoy Dudh Koshi valley and various mountains during the trip. We cross Ngozamba glacier and explore beautiful Dudh Pokhari. After all these 5-6 hours of uphill and downhill, we reach Gokyo. Overnight in Gokyo.
Day 16: Gokyo to Gokyo Ri (5,483 m/17,984 ft) and back to Gokyo, 5-6 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
This day, we will do a steep climb to Gokyo Ri (5,483 m/17,984 ft). From the top of Gokyo Ri you will be able to view a himalayan ranges of Mt. Everest (8848 m/29,021 ft), Mt. Lhotse (8516 m/27,932 ft), Mt. Makalu (8463 m/27,759 ft), Mt. Cho oyu (8201 m/26,899 ft), Mt. Nuptse and Gyachung Kang. You can also observe Gokyo valley and the biggest glacier of the world “Ngozumpa glacier”. After visiting Gokyo Ri, we will be back on Gokyo. Overnight in Gokyo.
Day 17: Gokyo to Thangna (4,500 m/14,760 ft), 4-5 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today we trek for 4-5 hours to reach Thangna. Accomodation in Thangna will be very simple. Overnight in Thangna.
Day 18: Thangna to Cho La Pass (5,300 m/17,384 ft), and trek to Dzongla (4,710 m/15,449 ft), 7-8 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today we have to cross Cho La Pass in order to reach Dzongla. We start our trek very early to avoid the weather condition that get bad in the Pass during noon time. It takes approximately 5 hours to reach the pass. The route is quite steepy and is difficult to cross the pass due to the snow. After reaching to the top you can observe magnificent views. After that we will descend toward the Dzongla. Accommodation in Dzongla is also very basic and simple. Overnight in Dzongla.
Day 19: Dzongla to Lobuche (4,910 m/16,105 ft), 4-5 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today our trail is relatively short and easy. 4-5 hours of walk from Dzongla leads us in today’s destination Lobuche. Overnight in Lobuche.
Day 20: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,594 ft) and back to Gorak Shep, 6-7 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
This day we will observe Mt. Everest from the nearest form. Firstly we will cross the glaciers way and the trek in rough trails. Then you will reach the dream destination you have booked the package for. Everest Base Camp is mesmerizingly beautiful. You will observe beautiful Himalaya panorama from this place. We will return back to the Gorak Shep for a night. Overnight in Gorak Shep.
Day 21: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,525 m/18,122 ft) to Pheriche (4,288 m/14,065 ft), 7-8 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today we start our trek to Kala Pathhar. We can feel cold wind as we will start our trek early morning today. After reaching Kala Pathhar you can observe the breath taking views of world’s tallest mountain, Mt. Everest (8848 m/29,021 ft) and other eight thousand meter mountains like Mt. Lhotse (8516 m/27,932 ft), Mt. Makalu (8463 m/27,759 ft) and Mt. Cho oyu (8201 m/26,899 ft). After observing the majestic view from the view point of Kala Pathhar we will start our journey back to Pheriche. Overnight in Pheriche.
Day 22: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m/11,286 ft), 6-7 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
We return to Namche Bazar today. We have to go through various uphill and downhill and through the forest of various floras and faunas in today’s trek. In this route you can enjoy the views of Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Nuptse and various other mountains. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 23: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,860 m/9,381 ft), 6-7 hours trek (A, B, L, D).
Today we will mostly descent whole day to reach Lukla. We can enjoy the view and sound of Dudh Koshi River during our trek. We pass through few monasteries and bridges to reach Lukla. Today is the last day of our trek so you can enjoy the last moment of you in mountains today. Overnight in Lukla.
Day 24: Fight back to Kathmandu (A, B).
Today we will early fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.
Day 25: Spare Day (A, B).
Today we keep spare day for you to rest as you have trekked for long time. After rest, you can make a final preparation for your departure tomorrow. You can also do some shopping in Kathmandu.
Day 26: Final departure (B).
Your day in Nepal ends today. A member of Ecofriendly team will leave you up to airport 3 hours before your flight duration.
